About the author

Rafi Safdie is a freshman at the University of Maryland at College Park in the Robert E. Smith School of Business. This website was made as a final project for his first semester English101 class as a culmination of all the research he has done on the opioid epidemic. He chose the opioid epidemic as his topic for research because after watching a Ted Talk on addiction in class, he was interested in learning more about how it works and why it happens. That led him to find out about just how massive the issue of opioid misuse in America is, despite how little it seems to be talked about.
