What can be done?
Even though there are several different strategies that could be argued as the best, there is no question that all are important in some way. There are already several drug treatment programs, education and awareness initiatives, and safety prescribing practices being put to to use. When all strategies are used effectively, we can put an end to the opioid epidemic and lower it to at least a more reasonable level. It is important that all strategies are used to their fullest extent: for example expanding and creating better quality into our drug treatment programs. It is clear through multiple sources that there is still a lot to be done in improving drug treatment programs. If all strategies are used in the most efficient way, we can make significant progress in ending the opioid epidemic. While I think drug treatment programs are the best way to end the epidemic, several other strategies can be critical in helping us make strides to end the opioid epidemic.
